A few weeks ago, I finished giving a series of talks on the Trinity. I have now uploaded the talks here, so that anyone who is interested can access them.

There are four talks in total. In the first two I discuss how the New Testament describes Jesus as divine, working within the theological context of the Old Testament. The first talk focuses on how Jesus himself demonstrated his divinity, and explains why this was preferable to him just coming out and saying something like, “Hi everyone, I’m God.” The second talk shows how the apostles then developed ways of talking about Jesus as they spread the gospel.

The second two talks walk through developments in church history. In the third talk, we go through the pre-Trinitarian models of the first few centuries. In the fourth talk, we go through the two traditional Trinitarian models (Monarchical Trinitarianism and Latin Trinitarianism), introduce the ontological-economic distinction, and discuss two recent developments that I think are problematic (Social Trinitarianism and Eternal Functional Subordination). In the second two talks I have put together various diagrams to help illustrate each model.

I hope you find them interesting and helpful.
